An Animobil update with new pictures and a few new animal variants has been added.

Thanks to Gaetan for his help on this update with some of the new variant notices and part numbers.

First up, one of the figure options for the customized VW car and van is a grandmother type with a dachshund. The dachshund has paint on it, a first for that very old mold. The specific part number for the dog is not known, but the part number for the bag with figure and accessories is believed to be 30 77 9372

The golden retriever in 70676 appears to be plain with no paint except the face. It is 30 66 5984

May 16 2022

The rabbit in dark grey from 70675 is a new color and ETN is 30 63 4917

May 16 2022

There is a new ETN for the yellow songbird with head down in 70996 and 70997, it's 30 05 1324 and has it's own page for now until we see if it is indeed a new color.

The wolf in the Western add-on 1024 has painted eyes, a new variation for that wolf color, no ETN yet

There is a new Dino Rise Magazine available in Germany. It is set 80821 on the Playmobil.de website. There is a new color of the baby T rex with it.

In addition to these new variants added to the website with this update, I have also added or seperated out some new ones due to getting the 70886 Mermaids set. Some of the colors are just slightly different from previous releases of the same animal and have new ETNs.

The magenta seahorse (on right in photo) is a little more translucent and shiny than the previous solid magenta (known as Dark Pink Solid on Animobil) from some years ago

The green stingray or skate is a bighter more yellow green than the earlier version

The large seahorse has the new ETN but is almost identical. This particular example has the eyes higher on the face but that may be a random variant. The color is just slightly different. There seems to have been a tiny change on the base, where the numbers printed there are slightly larger on the older ones, and different and smaller on the more recent ones. This one is very subtle and not in my opinion worth seeking out especially. If you get the set for the other unique versions though, might as well set it aside.

The final of these variants in that set is the blue painted butterflyfish. The new one is a brighter lighter blue plastic base.

Also in that set is the new dark red starfish, magenta dolphin, and pink dolphin baby variant

One other new variant added this update is the light brown puppy. It has previously existed with the straight tail version. The new mold with curled tail version is in the Figures 21 Boys group with the animal control police officer. Both shown here

Another area I have added new photos for is the Pony section. I have finally gotten some of the new type 4 pony as well as some other new variants. Along with that I redid the group photo for the section showing an example of each type in one image.

Left to right it is type 1, type 2, type 3, and type 4, draft pony, and pony foal

The grey horse in the 70999 blister pack is called Andalusian on the Playmobil.us website, so I have named it that within the Haflinger section (since that is the mold type used).

That's it for additions this update.

One piece of information I am looking for is for set 70870 the Novelmore attack tower set released as an exclusive store promo in Germany. It looks to have the small wyvern in it and it would be great to find out if that is a new color variant or not. Anyone have access to the instructions to get the ETNs? They are not on Playmobil.de

At AmClicks in the New Items forum there are much better images now of the upcoming Wildtopia theme. There is also a YouTube video in Italian from a toy fair of some sort showing them. I am waiting for them to show up in an actual catalog or one of the company websites to confirm that the sets are really coming out this year before adding to Animobil. The big thing with the theme is that it is supposed to be made with more environmentally positive materials. Claiming an 80% number. I look forward to hearing what that really means. Are they being made in a different plastic type? Will we be able to tell when held in hand? They are re-releasing a bunch of the existing animal molds; all of which look to be repeats. If the plastic is noticeably different, then they may indeed be new variants and worth collecting.  The South American sets are wonderful looking with new species including tapir and baby, ocelot, hummingbird, two colors of howler monkeys, manatee and baby, and giant anteater and baby. The new paint variants include ocelot kittens, jaguar, caiman, crane, butterflies, and a toucan. There are also new variants coming in the Novelmore theme, and in 123 and Aqua.

It's looking to be an interesting year.
