Just a quick update to the Shields pages finally. Thanks to Bob, the two Superhero shields are now added. Next up for shields will be the new knights' shields coming next spring. I expect to add those when the online catalogs come available in January.

November 30, 2025

The McDonalds 2025 series has been added with this update. These are Happy Meal toys that come in a box with a collector card. There have been 13 of them released this year, though not all in all markets. Again, they are not being released in the USA, so thanks to Andy in Germany for acquiring most of them for me, and to Graham in the UK for getting the two additional ones.

Alpaca

Very large, especially compared to the regular ones that I think are a little undersized.

Animoblog

The large sizes and less articulation are true throughout the McDonalds releases. They have different rules for child safety and have them manufactured by dedicated producers who can meet the requirements. Playmobil is essentially a license for these but the company name does appear molded somewhere on each animal.

Chimpanzee

This is a reuse of the orangutan mold from 2024 as is obvious below. The colors are different of course. This is one of two that were not in general release in Germany, the other being the baby rhino.

Golden Eagle

Chunky but not too bad, you can see how big the legs are in the comparison below.

Kangaroo

Animoblog

The worst of the bunch in my opinion, oversized but also not attractive.

With the regular ones below

Orca

The best of the bunch, this one looks like a juvenile compared to the regular Playmobil adult and is attractively molded. A great addition to any Playmobil animal collection.

Manta Ray

Another acceptable one. The tail is chunky but otherwise it fits in size with the regular releases. Pink color choice is odd.

Panda

Oversized but a really nice sculpt. The pose is better than the usual Playmobil pandas and is really cute. My third favorite after the orca and baby rhino, even with the bigger size.

Peacock

The peacock is really huge, but the coloration matches Playmobil perfectly. The head turns side to side rather then up down like the regular mold. I actually like that part better, but the size is just out of proportion. I would use it as a sculpture at the zoo, maybe on a building sign. It's nice, just too big.

Baby Rhinoceros

Animoblog

Animoblog

Large for a baby, but still smaller than the adults. Makes a good juvenile. Fun playful pose for it too. My second favorite after the orca. This is the other animal not released in Germany. It was available in the UK though.

Sea Lion

Animoblog

Animoblog

Similar to the regular release with less articulation. Head doesn't raise as high. It's ok but not an improvement.

Animoblog

Sea Turtle

Animoblog

Animoblog

This one uses the same molds as the green sea turtle released in 2024. Very similar to the regular past releases but the legs don't flop the way regular Playmobil ones did.

Sloth

Very oversized compared to the regular one.

Zebra

Actually slightly shorter than the regular ones, but still a little chunky, especially the tail and legs. Seen below on the left side with the Junior and 1-2-3 ones.

Overall this is not quite as nice a series as the 2024 ones but there are a few really nice ones, with the orca and baby rhino being the stars.

Worth being selective if you are buying on the secondary market like eBay.

That was it for this update. Some new animal variations in the next animal update. Hopefully a small shields update coming as well. Still busy teaching my square dance class, so next updates will probably be around Christmas. Happy Holidays to you.

Thanks for reading - Tiermann
